EducationOverviewYale Diagnostic Radiology offers an optimal, highly advanced and considerably diverse environment in which medical students, residents, and fellows learn diagnostic and interventional radiology. The residency program in Diagnostic Radiology is one of the most competitive and highly regarded in the nation, receiving more than 500 applications for the seven positions yearly. A unique research opportunity is available to residents in Nuclear Medicine through the new state-of-the-art research PET center. The Department offers fellowships in Abdominal Imaging, Body Imaging, Breast Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging, and Neuroradiology. The Bioimaging Sciences Division faculty teach a significant number of courses to Yale undergraduate students and graduate students in Biomedical Engineering and the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program, including Physics of Medical Imaging, Physical and Chemical Basis of Biosensing, and Biomedical Image Processing and Analysis. The faculty currently supervise 15 graduate students in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry and more than 20 postdoctoral fellows. |
