Clinical Interests: Cross fusion imaging such as PET/CT and SPECT/CT to improve both the sensitivity and specificity of the currently available nuclear medicine imaging protocols. I am also very interested in implementing newly approved as well as participation in clinical trials in the field of radioactive molecular treatment of disease, such as radioimmunotherapy such as Zevalin and Bexxar for lymphoma patients.

Special focus is placed to better support our colleagues in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologic diseases in a multidisciplinary setting. Paramount emphasis is placed in all aspects of patient care, including success of the diagnosis and treatment, impact on survival, improvement on patient’s quality of life, as well as convenience to patients and their family.

Research Interests: Molecular imaging and therapy is the main focus of my research interest. At the present time, I am very interested in learning about the utility of PET and MR imaging. It is my hope that once the PET/MR prototype becomes available, I would be able to learn much about the intrinsic properties of these imaging modalities and how they may compliment each other. Meanwhile, I am focusing my efforts in furthering the use of high-field MR spectroscopy with the help of my colleagues at the Yale MR research center.

Board Certifications: American Board of Nuclear Medicine, certified in September 2001.

Education: MD, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
PhD, in Biomedical Physics at University of California, Los Angeles
BS, in Biochemistry at University of California, Los Angeles

Residency: 1996-2000 Combined Internal Medicine & Nuclear Medicine residency
Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY

Fellowship: 2000-2001 PET fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, NY, NY

Honors / Awards: In vivo and Clinical Molecular Imaging Center (ICMIC) research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (2000-2001)
