Multi-Modal Methods and In Vivo Applications.
Up-to-date and user-friendly, this publication is designed to be accessible to both specialist neurophysiologists and general neuroscientists. It reviews the fundamental, theoretical, and practical principles of magnetic resonance, electrophysiology, and optical methods as applied in the neurosciences and shows how these tools can be used successfully to answer important questions in brain science.

Richard Carson, PhD, was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). This distinction placed Carson in the top 2% of the medical and biological engineers that make up AIMBE. Carson accepted his award in February, 2008, at the AIMBE Annual Event: "The Global Impact of Medical and Biological Engineering." Professor Carson was also recognized by the Yale University College of Engineering as the 2008 Sheffield Distinguished Teaching Award recipient, honoring his commitment to excellence in teaching Yale biomedical engineering students.

Erik M. Shapiro, PhD, assistant professor of diagnostic radiology and biomedical engineering at the Yale School of Medicine, has been awarded a $1.5 million New Innovator Award by the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
